Alzheimer\u2019s Volunteer: <\/strong>Linda has been an Alzheimer\u2019s volunteer advocate on the state and national levels since 2000. She is the Alzheimer’s ambassador for Congresswoman Hartzler. She previously served on the Alzheimer\u2019s Association Mid-Missouri Chapter (now, Greater Missouri Chapter) Board of Directors for six years and returned to the Board in 2012. She served another six years as the Board secretary and was an active member of\u00a0the Public Policy Committee. In 2010 she attended the Alzheimer’s Research Conference in Columbia, MO.<\/p>\n

The Missouri Coalition recognized Linda as Advocate of the Year in 2008, and she was a three-time finalist for the Maureen Reagan Advocate Award at the Alzheimer’s Advocacy Forum in Washington, DC. Linda has participated in the Advocacy Forum in Washington DC annually since 2001.<\/p>\n

Linda established a Memory Walk (now the Walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s) to raise Alzheimer\u2019s awareness in her community and coordinated the walk for five years. At the\u00a02015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s the Greater Missouri Chapter recognized her for 18 years of dedication and support. In 2017 the Greater Missouri Chapter dedicated a bench in her honor at the Highway Gardens on the Missouri State Fairgrounds to commemorate her 20th Walk.\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Alzheimer\u2019s Speaker: <\/strong>Linda provides programs for Alzheimer\u2019s groups, support groups, aging professionals, hospice, civic organizations, and in-service dementia specific training for healthcare professionals. She has spoken to large groups including being the keynote speaker at the Oklahoma\/Arkansas Alzheimer\u2019s Education Conference.<\/p>\n

Writing:<\/strong> Linda is a freelance writer of both fiction and nonfiction. She is published in Chicken Soup for the Soul<\/em>, Cup of Comfort, Well Versed, Echoes of the Ozarks, <\/em>and other print and online publications. She was the author and editor of Alzheimer\u2019s Anthology of Unconditional Love, <\/em>an anthology of true Alzheimer\u2019s stories.<\/em>\u00a0Linda\u00a0was president of Columbia Chapter of the Missouri Writers Guild in 2009, and from 2012-2014 she\u00a0served as\u00a0vice-president and managing editor of their annual literary journal, Well Versed.<\/em> She has won numerous prizes with her writing including Ozarks Writer League\u2019s Best book of the Year for her book Early Onset Blog: Essays from an Online Journal<\/em> and a Missouri Writers\u2019 Guild Show Me Book Award for A Shaker of Margaritas: Hot Flash Mommas<\/em> published by her company Mozark Press LLC. She has blogged since 2008\u00a0on her award-winning Early Onset Alzheimer\u2019s blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Publisher:\u00a0<\/strong>Linda established Mozark Press in 2010. This small publishing company publishes 1-5 quality paperback books each year. Mozark publishes short story collections, inspirational works, anthologies, general fiction, and non-fiction. The Shaker of Margaritas<\/em> anthology series gives authors a paid publishing opportunity. Mozark was pleased to support the Joplin community after its devastating tornado by partnering with the Missouri Writers’ Guild to publish Storm Country<\/em>. Mozark also partnered with the Master Gardeners of Greene County in publishing 30 Years of Cultivating Soils, Souls, and Minds.<\/em><\/p>\n

Business Women: <\/strong>Between 2011 and 2013 Linda served as president of Sedalia Business Women, the largest Business Women of Missouri club in the state. She has been active in the organization for several years, chairing committees and served as an officer for six years. Linda established a scholarship fundraising program called the Red Purse Raffle which annually raised around $1,000. Her local club honored her with the Woman of the Year award in 2007-2008. She served as\u00a0NW Regional Director for Business Women of Missouri (BWM). In 2015, she was elected\u00a0vice-president of the BWM Foundation Board.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
